Selection help

How to choose a huller

Four things decide which model fits, before price is even discussed.

Seed or crush? The answer changes the machine

If the kernels will be planted, low breakage and high purity matter more than raw speed, and the 800-1100 kg/h seed sheller is the right choice. If the crop goes to oil or food processing, the 200 kg/h and 800 kg/h machines are enough.

Set throughput against your buying season

Groundnut arrives in a short window. A 200 kg/h machine processes about 1.6 tonnes in an eight-hour day, so buy for the peak week rather than the annual average.

Check moisture before you blame the machine

Wet or green groundnut shells poorly and breaks kernels whatever the equipment. Drying to a consistent moisture content before shelling protects both throughput and kernel quality.

Plan sieving with the sheller

The 200 kg/h machine includes a sieve to separate shells from kernels. For larger units, agree the separation method with us so the shelling line finishes clean.

Questions

Huller questions buyers ask

Answers written against the capacities and prices we publish, not against a template.

How much does a peanut shelling machine cost?

Published unit prices for the current groundnut shelling range run from US$290 for the 200 kg/h electric machine to US$866 for the 800-1100 kg/h low-breakage seed sheller. Final price depends on configuration and destination, so each order is quoted individually.

What is the difference between a peanut sheller and a thresher?

A peanut sheller removes the pod shell from groundnut kernels. A thresher separates grain from stalks and cobs, for example maize or wheat. Both are hulling-line machines but they work on different crops, so tell us the crop before ordering.

Will a groundnut sheller break the kernels?

Kernel breakage is controlled by clearance settings, shell moisture and feed rate. The 800-1100 kg/h model is specified for low breakage and high purity, which makes it the safer choice when the kernels are seed-grade rather than for crushing.

How do I get the right model for my volume?

Tell us the tonnes you expect in your busiest shelling week and whether the output is seed or processing grade. We will recommend the model and, where useful, propose a combination of a small machine for peak overflow and one larger unit for the main flow.
